During the day, Jean-Paul Franssens (1938-2003) worked in his studio as writer, painter and librettist, at night he was a flamboyant figure in the Amsterdam art scene; a bon vinant and a great story teller. The publication of this book commemorates the 10th anniversary of his death on 19 June 2003. It features a selection of his drawings and paintings as well as anecdotes from friends such as Henk Hofland, Connie Palmen, A.F.Th. van der Heijden, Remco Campert and Peter van Straaten.
This hard cover edition combines two types of paper; one showcases Franssens’ works and the other tells his friends’ stories, using an elegant, dynamic typeface.
