Exhibition design for ‘Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita’ at the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam. Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita (1868-1944) was a draughtsman, printmaker, and decorative artist. During his lifetime, de Mesquita was much admired as an artist and a teacher. His death in the Second World War and the drastically altered artistic climate in postwar Europe led to the near disappearance of his work from the public eye. The Jewish Historical Museum showed a large collection of his work making de Mesquita the object of renewed interest.

The surface typography is Fresco Sans and printed with relief (print in layers) to express the printing techniques that the artist used.

Exhibition: 23.01.17 to 18.06.17. Curator: Jelka Krôger and Erik Koopman, Production Management: Martine Stroo
